    Wednesday, October 18 at 2 p.m.

    Want to improve your food prep skills? Have some culinary fun and get your snack on with our Teen Food Workshop. Each workshop will show how to make a cool snack step by step, and then we’ll eat what we’ve made together!  This month we will be making Monster Energy Bites.  All ingredients and tools provided. Please inform library staff of any food allergies before participating in this program.   • Conversational French Language Group
    Thursday, October 19 at 6 p.m.

  • Fiber Arts Group
    Friday, October 20 at 10 a.m.

    All are welcome to join our Fiber Arts Group.  
    If you embroider, cross-stitch, sew, weave, quilt, whatever you do - if it’s done with fiber and it’s portable, we welcome you.

  • Lego and Rubik’s Cube Club
    Friday, October 20 at 3 p.m.

    Let the brain games begin!   • ​Author Talk: Michelle Souliere of Strange Maine

    Michelle Souliere has been writing about Maine oddities for years in her blog, Strange Maine. The owner of the Green Hand Bookshop in Portland, Michelle has compiled her findings into the anthology Strange Maine: True Tales from the Pine Tree State. Now, just in time for Halloween, Michelle will be making a visit to the Wells Public Library to share some of her favorite strange-but-true tales!  Themed refreshments will be provided!   • ​Random Fandom: Marvel Universe
    Wednesday, November 1 at 2 p.m.

    Every month we celebrate a new popular theme geared towards kids in grades 5-8.  We make crafts, eat snacks, play games, and talk all about the theme.   • ​Lunch and Learn: Author Andrew Vietze
    Friday, November 3 at 12 p.m.

    Andrew Vietze wears many hats. For part of the year, he serves as a Ranger at Baxter State Park. The rest of the year, Andrew spends his time writing. He’s penned such works as Boon Island: A True Story of Mutiny, Shipwreck, and Cannibalism and Becoming Teddy Roosevelt: How a Maine Guide Inspired America's 26th President. His latest work is White Pine: American History and the Tree that Made a Nation.  This event is a must-see for anyone interested in the outdoors, history, and Maine!   • ​A Few Seconds with Our Fathers: Songs and Stories of WWII
    Tuesday, November 7 at 6 p.m.

    Award-winning songwriters Curt Bessette and Jenn Kurtz will be at the library to present a program honoring World War II veterans through stories and original songs. Also included are popular war-era songs representing a generation’s hope for the future. Please join us for this evening of music and remembrance. Construction Begins!

The Wells Public Library is pleased to announce that construction began on its long awaited building project. Beginning in August, the front parking lot will be closed to the public for approximately 6 months. 

The front entrance to the building will remain open.
